Justin Townes Earle, whose Harlem River Blues was one of my favorite albums of 2010, has just announced his next album is due for release on March 27 via Bloodshot Records. The new album's extremely long title is Nothing's Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now, and you can download the title track on his website (or below, if that doesn't work for you). Very excited for this!

For their fourth album, the Mystery Jets headed off to Texas and made the inevitable Americana album so beloved of British indie bands with a hint of longevity. Radlands is executed with polite faithfulness to its inspirations: The Ballad of Emerson Lonestar is built on the finger-picking and slide guitar one might expect, while album closer Luminescence is a mournful ballad plucked straight from the campfire. But this new southern influence plods, and Radlands is more successful when it gives in to a more straightforward sound: Sister Everett is an amiable, chugging tale of a flawed missionary. But the veneer of sepia-tinged retro-rock smothers the album, and it ends up lacking the bounce or charm of previous efforts.

Growing up hasn’t been easy for Eel Pie Island’s Mystery Jets, you suspect. The south London crew went from the ragged promise of 2006 debut ‘Making Dens’ to the shiny pop perfectionism of 2008’s ‘Twenty One’. Since then, however, progress has been frustratingly slow. 2010’s high-gloss mope ‘Serotonin’ sparked in places, but failed to set the charts ablaze and felt too much like a warm slug of flat cola after its predecessor’s heady fizz.
Then last year we had the debut from bassist Kai Fish, ‘Life In Monochrome’, which posed the question all side-projects ask – is your heart still in the day job? We got our answer when news of Kai’s exit struck like pantomime lightning early this month, and the Jets determined to fly on with the loss of a treasured engine. Erk! Can you feel the Han Solo-style bad feeling taking root in the pit of your stomach yet?
If so, you might want to look away now: ditching the synth-pop template of the last two records, sessions for ‘Radlands’ – laid down with Fish still reluctantly on board – took place in Austin, Texas, with frontman Blaine Harrison waxing lyrical about the town’s country music heritage and, gulp, pedal steel guitar on some of the tracks.
A star-spangled document of a band in decline, then? Not quite. Musically speaking, opening track ‘Radlands’ is less heartland rock and more Foals’ ‘Spanish Sahara’ in its slinking, melancholy guitar line. Harrison wades in with a horribly overcooked couplet in “I’ve heard that there’s a place where you go when you die/It’s a terribly overrated, horseshit-shaped hole in the sky”, but soon the band’s veering off in crunching rock fashion. Touches of pedal steel come in at the end, but it’s all in the service of a pretty rollicking tune.
‘Had Me At Hello’ rocks like a campy Neil Young circa ‘Down By The River’, while single ‘Someone Purer’ bolsters the guitar-heavy mood, its refrain of “give me rock’n’roll” a fine rallying cry for the record as a whole. What’s impressive here is the fun the boys seem to be having, which sits weirdly with our knowledge about Kai.
Country and western tune ‘The Ballad Of Emmerson Lonestar’ hovers awkwardly between Albarn-esque and Borrell-esque, though a house-tinged coda is equal parts silly and inspired. And ‘Greatest Hits’’ groove lifts wholesale from ‘Stuck In The Middle With You’, which is annoying, until a genius lyric about divvying up the record collection with an ex comes to the rescue (“No way you’re having ‘This Nation’s Saving Grace’, you only listen to it when you’re pissed”) and the tune takes off.
‘The Hale Bop’’s shiny falsettos sound like a hillbilly Of Montreal – no really, it’s good – before the pace drops with dreamy ballad ‘The Nothing’ and ‘Take Me Where The Roses Grow’, a duet sung with Blaine’s other half, Sophie-Rose Harper. ‘Sister Everett’ is an ode to an evangelist lady guitarist William Rees met on a plane, channelling roots-era Stones, while slashing power ballad ‘Lost In Austin’ sounds like it’s eaten James Dean Bradfield for breakfast. Tart acoustic closer ‘Luminescence’ recalls an addled Gram Parsons: “It’s not the coke, it’s the lump in my throat that’s to blame”.
While other Brit rockers come over all starry-eyed and reverent when making their would-be Great American Album, ‘Radlands’ is about as authentically Yankee as Christian Bale’s mid-Atlantic drawl, and just dandy for it. Best pray it isn’t their swansong, y’all.

The project will feature his singles "Real Love" and "Harriett Jones", as well as 10 additional tracks and features from the likes of Lil Wayne, Shaggy, and Benet's daughter, India.
In a recent interview with BET, Benet spoke on the reasoning behind the album title, and credits the importance of having creative control & freedom to release it through his own label. "I feel like I’m at the peak of my game creatively, musically, vocally, and it’s all just pouring out on this project," Benet explained. "If you’ve ever been a peripheral Eric Benét fan, you like this song or that song but you never really got one of my records, this is the one you gotta get."
And although he's managed to snag one of the top artists, Lil Wayne, Benet's more excited about his duet with his daughter. "But I have to tell, the collaboration I’m most excited about is the duet with my daughter. She’s an incredible singer and songwriter herself. She’s 20, her name is India, and I’m as proud as a father has ever been," he gleamed.

The Grateful Dead formed in 1965 and disbanded, after the death of Jerry Garcia, in 1995. During that period the band released more than 30 studio, live and compilation albums and a similar number of singles. Since 1995 many live recordings from the Dead's vault have been released in the View From The Vault, Dick's Picks and Road Trips series and as one-off releases. Additional compilations have also been released. Many Grateful Dead tracks have appeared on various artists collections. This page documents these releases.

His are the first songs I learned.” See full track list below.
Produced by Don Was (Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones), the 14 celebratory tracks feature friends and admirers like Kix Brooks of Brooks and Dunn, Elizabeth Cook, and Amy LaVere. “We just went into a studio and played about 30 of Jerry Jeff’s songs and let the performances dictate what songs would make it,” Snider says, adding, “I could’ve done 30 more.”
The release follows Snider’s acclaimed new album Agnostic Hymns & Stoner Fables (Aimless Records). Released this month, the album debuted in the Top 20 of four separate Billboard charts, including the Indie Label Chart, the Folk Chart, the Internet Chart, and the Independent Core Store Report. The New York Times hailed it as “among his best” and Rolling Stone called it “the sharpest musical response yet to the excesses of the one percent.”

Reks' new album produced entirely by Statik Selektah is exactly what the title implies, Straight, No Chaser. Symbolizing downing hard liquor without anything sweet to sugarcoat the taste, raw unfiltered and straight to the point. Boston native, Corey Christie, better known as Reks executes an elite level of lyricism infiltrating Selektah's (Spell his name right) beats with tightly personal subject matter, placing the magnifying lens on heavy topics such as unplanned pregnancy, impoverished conditions, internal conflict, street life awareness and his personal life.

Uploading, Mirrorstack, MP3, 320kbps ==>> After an early rip last week by group BriBerY, SS4B released the deluxe edition which I believe is only available at TARGET and features 3 bonus tracks. Note that this release will prolly get nuke in the future since SS4B should have released either the bonus cd or the extra tracks only and not rip the entire album again just for 3 bonus tracks.Little Broken Hearts is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Norah Jones, which will be released May 1, 2012 on Blue Note Records. The album follows the release of 2009’s The Fall. The album is produced by Brian Burton, better known as Danger Mouse, who is notable for his production work with The Black Keys, Gnarls Barkley, and Beck, among others.
